Inducing Astral Projection
NOTE: Don’t give up easily. Most people give up too early after having not much success. Don’t be one of them. Everyone has the ability as it is part of being human. You don’t need any kind of psychic abilities you just need patience and practice. So if it doesn’t happen straight away keep trying because you WILL get there eventually. You cannot fail at this, you can only give up!
We are going to look at the most common method for inducing astral projections. This method involves the use of a brain entrainment sound technology called Binaural Beats. These are sounds that you’ll play through headphones while trying to induce an astral travel, OBE or even Lucid Dream.
How do Binaural Beats work?
Basically a Binaural Beat is a mixture of sound frequencies that are played together to interact with your brain causing it to enter different vibrational frequencies, (or alter your brain state if you like). It works by playing two separate frequencies, or tones, in each ear. These tones interact with your brain and produce a third tone which will sound like a pulsating ‘beat’. You have to wear headphones for this to work properly as the brain needs to receive each tone independently. Without headphones the sounds will enter the brain ‘ready mixed’ which wont have the same effect.
The technique we are going to use is going to include the ‘rope technique’ which was developed by Robert Bruce as one of the easier ways to induce Astral Projections. You will need to pin a piece of ribbon or string above your bed so it will hang down within reach. Reach for it and touch it often so that its position is embedded in your brain and becomes very familiar. You will not need it for any other purpose than this. It will be just acting as an aid to help your imagination later.
You can do this in a comfortable armchair if you prefer but in bed at night is the best place to try projecting.
Step 1. Get comfortable. Check that there will be no interruptions such as alarm clocks or phones. Make sure your comfortably warm too.
Step 2. Put on your headphones. It is recommended that you use over-ear earphones rather than ear plug headphones as they are more comfortable and also produce much better sound quality (especially bass!!).
(Start the binaural sound and continue)
Step 3. Relax your whole body. Start with your head and work your way down to your toes. It helps to tense the muscles in each part of your body bit by bit and then relax them completely. Concentrate each time you do this and feel your muscles getting heavier and heavier pressing down on the mattress.
Step 4. With your eyes still closed imagine a rope hanging from your ceiling exactly where the ribbon is and reach out for it with your IMAGINARY hands. Now pull yourself up the rope, hand over hand, in the dark. You cant see the rope but you know it’s there and can feel a strong thick rope hanging firmly.
NOTE: Any sensations you experience i.e dizziness, vertigo, vibrations or pressure, you MUST ignore and focus your full concentration on climbing the rope. If you concentrate on your body then you will be pulled back into it so you must not panic when these occur but just stay calm – they are normal and are a sign that your ‘etheric body’ is loosening from your physical one.
Step 5. Keep climbing upwards for ever on. The forces you are putting on your etheric body will put you into a trance state and you will feel pressure come over you. Again ignore this and continue what you are doing. Following this you will feel your Chakras opening in response to this pressure.
Step 6. Now you will feel your body starting to vibrate. Keep climbing. Then you will ‘buzz’ slightly. This is you leaving the body completely. Now you will be freely floating above your bed!
You are now free to explore the Astral Plane.
Remember - Don't give up! Chances are this wont happen first time. Just keep at it! The buzzing and vibrations you will feel are intense, so you'll likely snap out of the state during this at first. Your heart will start to race and you'll become fully conscious and present in your physical body again. This is normal as the experience is new to you and quite exciting. It'll take a few attempts to make progress. Keep going, and you'll succeed!
